A Beautiful Natural Bridal Makeup Look

Bethany Cousins

A natural wedding makeup look enhances your features without hiding them, so you look like yourself on your wedding day. It uses a luminous, serum-mixed base, soft matte-and-shimmer eyes, a peachy flush, and a nude lip — lightly set so it lasts all day and never distracts from your gown.

A natural wedding makeup look is about feeling like the most beautiful version of yourself — enhancing your features without hiding them, so nothing competes with your dress or your natural glow. This soft, long-wearing bridal look comes straight from an Albolene Makeup Challenge winner, with pro tips for radiant skin and a finish that lasts from the ceremony into the night.

What you’ll need

  • Primer and a hydrating face serum
  • A foundation you love, plus concealer
  • Soft matte and shimmer eyeshadows
  • Fluffy and dense, short-bristled brushes
  • Mascara (and faux lashes if you like)
  • A light peachy blush and a nude lip
  • A lip scrub and oil, plus a finishing spray

On the big day, gentle removal matters. Albolene Moisturizing Cleanser melts away long-wear bridal makeup — even waterproof mascara after happy tears — while moisturizing, so skin stays soft.

Our wedding day is one of the most special (and often sacred) days in our lives, so it's important that we feel more beautiful than we've ever felt in our entire lives! We don't want to distract from the wedding dress or our natural beauty, so to create my wedding day makeup look, I first applied a primer, then I mixed a hydrating face serum with my foundation to make my skin look flawless and smooth. To cover up any blemishes, under eye shadows, or bags, you can use a little bit of concealer, but don't go overboard! A light colored matte shadow blended in the crease and upward a little above the crease, then a light shimmer shade on my eyelids and under the eyes was all it took to create the eye look. I used a light peachy blush for that naturally flushed appeal. About 2 hours before adding any lipstick, I use a lip scrub and apply oil to soften my lips. Then, a favorite nude lippy will keep your wedding day face looking soft and natural and not distract from your gorgeous gown and veil. A finishing spray will help to meld your makeup to your skin and keep it looking fresh all day long — and into the night.

How to Get the Look

  1. Prep with primer and a serum-mixed base

Start with a primer, then mix a few drops of hydrating face serum into your foundation so skin looks flawless, smooth, and luminous — the bride's own trick for radiant, natural-looking coverage.

  2. Conceal lightly

Use a little concealer only where you need it — over blemishes, under-eye shadows, or bags — but don't go overboard. The goal is even, real-looking skin, not heavy coverage.

  3. Create soft, natural eyes

Blend a light matte shadow through the crease and slightly above it with a soft, fluffy brush, then pack a light shimmer onto the lids and under the eyes with a denser, short-bristled brush. For soft definition under the eyes, apply shadow with an eyeliner brush instead of liner.

  4. Add lashes

Coat lashes with mascara to make the eyes pop, or add faux lashes if you like. For your lower lashes, turn the mascara wand upright and sweep the tip across them for a clean, natural finish.

  5. Sweep on a peachy blush

Using a fluffy brush, apply a light, peachy blush to the cheeks for a naturally flushed, healthy glow that photographs beautifully.

  6. Prep and color the lips

About two hours before (or even the night before), exfoliate with a lip scrub and apply oil to soften your lips. Then finish with a favorite nude lippy so your natural beauty shines through without competing with the gown.

  7. Set it to last all day

Lock everything in with a finishing spray to meld the makeup to your skin and keep it looking fresh from the ceremony into the night.

Enhance your features instead of covering them. Prep with primer and a serum-mixed foundation for luminous skin, conceal only where needed, and keep eyes soft with a matte crease and a touch of shimmer. Add a peachy blush and a nude lip so you look like the most radiant version of yourself.

Start with primer and a well-prepped base, build in thin layers, and set with a finishing spray to meld everything to the skin. Mixing a hydrating serum into your foundation keeps the skin looking fresh rather than cakey, so the look stays beautiful from the ceremony into the night.

About two hours before applying lipstick — or even the night before — exfoliate with a lip scrub and apply a nourishing oil to soften and smooth the lips. This is the bride's own tip, and it keeps a nude wedding-day lip looking soft and even rather than dry.

Use a gentle, oil-based cleanser like Albolene Moisturizing Cleanser. Massaged onto dry skin, it melts away long-wear foundation, finishing spray, and waterproof mascara — even after happy tears — in one step, while moisturizing tired skin.
